GMail Shortcut Keys

Instead of accessing your Gmail account using mouse for a change and some comfortability you can use your Keyboard for entire access of your Gmail. Here are the list of some useful keyboard shortcuts for Gmail.
To use these shortcuts you need to enable keyboard shortcuts as Settings--->Keyboard Shortcuts on.

Shortcut Key	Definition	Action
c	Compose	Allows you to compose a new message. + c allows you to compose a message in a new window.
/	Search	Puts your cursor in the search box.
k	Move to newer conversation	Opens or moves your cursor to a more recent conversation. You can hit to expand a conversation.
j	Move to older conversation	Opens or moves your cursor to the next oldest conversation. You can hit to expand a conversation.
n	Next message	Moves your cursor to the next message. You can hit to expand or collapse a message. (Only applicable in 'Conversation View.')
p	Previous message	Moves your cursor to the previous message. You can hit to expand or collapse a message. (Only applicable in 'Conversation View.')
o or	Open	Opens your conversation. Also expands or collapses a message if you are in 'Conversation View.'
u	Return to conversation list	Refreshes your page and returns you to the inbox, or list of conversations.
e	Archive	Archive your conversation from any view.
m	Mute	Archives the conversation, and all future messages skip the Inbox unless sent or cc'd directly to you. Learn more.
x	Select conversation	Automatically checks and selects a conversation so that you can archive, apply a label, or choose an action from the drop-down menu to apply to that conversation.
s	Star a message or conversation	Adds or removes a star to a message or conversation. Stars allow you to give a message or conversation a special status.
!	Report spam	Marks a message as spam and removes it from your conversation list.
r	Reply	Replies to the message sender. + r allows you to reply to a message in a new window. (Only applicable in 'Conversation View.')
a	Reply all	Replies to all message recipients. +a allows you to reply to all message recipients in a new window. (Only applicable in 'Conversation View.')
f	Forward	Forwards a message. + f allows you to forward a message in a new window. (Only applicable in 'Conversation View.')
	Escape from input field	Removes the cursor from your current input field.
+ s	Save draft	Saves the current text as a draft when composing a message. Hold the key while pressing s and make sure your cursor is in one of the text fields -- either the composition pane, or any of the To, CC, BCC, or Subject fields -- when using this shortcut.
#	Delete	Moves the conversation to Trash.
l	Label	Opens the Labels menu to label a conversation.
v	Move to	Moves the conversation from the inbox to a different label, Spam or Trash.
+ i	Mark as read	Marks your message as 'read' and skip to the next message.
+ u	Mark as unread	Marks your message as 'unread' so you can go back to it later.
[	Archive and previous	Archives your conversation and moves to the previous one.
]	Archive and next	Archives your conversation and moves to the next one.
z	Undo	Undoes your previous action, if possible (works for actions with an 'undo' link).
+ n	Update current conversation	Updates your current conversation when there are new messages.

Chrome OS in USB Drive

In my last post i have shared you all that Google Chrome OS will be given to users via pre installed notebook computers, but it is not in completed stage to give it as pre installed OS, only the source codes of the Google Chrome OS has been found on Internet. Recently in some of the Torrent sites we can find the Google Chrome OS which can be downloaded to a USB drive and can be used to operate the notebook computer, this was the news shared over the internet users, and also the information said that some of the people who works on Engadget site has got the USB Chrome OS and used it in Dell Vostro A90 notebook computers, It has shared that Chrome OS booting time is 22 seconds, instantly it connects to internet to give us the OS ready for work.

But unfortunately, the device drivers of the OS are in intial stage of designing and development, hence under Chrome Operating System we couldn't get use of our entire system performance, If you want to try Chrome OS before it has been lauched by Google you can get it at

Google Chrome OS(Continuation...)

In previous post I have shared you all about a bit about Google Chrome Operating Systems, I continue the same in this post.

So as i said before we can save or create our application files or data files and access it anywhere from the world without need to take our laptop or hard disk withus, since everything can be saved Online, from wherever in the world you can access your files or data with a Google Chrome OS system, So we don't need to buy application software packages and don't need to install anything on our system, and hence no need to fear or worry that our system might get corrupted or gets hanged anywhere, we don't need to buy a large diskspace Harddrive. These all can be done by single Chrome OS.

Since everything operates Online so everything is fast, simple and secured and this gives us a plesant computing. The startup time for Google Chrome OS is at present 7 seconds, in future it will be further decreased. Chrome OS looks like Chrome Browser in its Front view(image has been given above). We can get all applications like (Doc, Spreadsheet, Graphics) in tabs in given screen we can click on any application and use it we can also use our memory card, Mobile phone, Digicam or flash drives with Chrome OS and we can edit in our system.
How we can Get Chrome OS and how do we install it?
No its all unnecessary, we can buy it only by buying System or Laptop with Chrome OS installed, Currently we couldn't get it as separate OS package. First Google Chrome OS installed notebook computers will be released in market.
Current computer usage trend is for eg if we need to use email, we have to boot up OS and then a browser and then to intialize our email website. Nowadays people need to get their work done faster and simpler, in that view Chrome OS has been designed, to start up the Chrome OS 7 seconds and then just clicking our email site and gets ready for emailing, it won't be taking more than 10 seconds(Depends on internet speed)
Following companies accepted to give hands with Google Chrome OS HP, Acer, Lenova, Qualcom, Texas, Instruments, Free scale, Intel.
Bill Gates on commenting about Google Chrome OS, says it appears as another distribution of Linux System."there's many, many forms of Linux operating systems out there and packaged in different ways and booted in different ways," adding that, "in some ways I am surprised people are acting like there's something new. I mean, you've got Android running on Netbooks. It's got a browser in it." Gates further went on to get another dig in at Google by saying that "the more vague they are, the more interesting it is," before getting a little philosophical by asking: "What's a browser? What's not a browser?" His answer? "In large part, it's more an abuse of terminology than a real change."

Google Chrome OS operates as opensource system, so it might be given free or at low cost it would be released in market. Since it is opensource mode so soon it gets popularity among people like Mozilla's Firefox, Next year Chrome OS computers will be designed as ClamShell computers with small screen, touch pad and keyboard .

Chrome OS supports only solid state Hard Disk, so power consumption would be very low, and speed increases. The access time and read up time would be very low, as we press a button on chrome system, instantly gets connected to net and ready for our usage. We don't need to install or update any softwares we use as they all are web sourced and don't need to fear about virus or other malwares would attack or hack our data.

Brief about Chrome OS:

• Web browser acts as Desktop for our computer and everything would be related with Internet.
• Nothing as ordinary Files, Folders, Drives everything can be saved Online.
• There won't be necessary of Shutdown button in Chrome OS, instead it will be in Sleep Mode when we need it, we can get our system after touching a single button
• We don't need any updates for our application softwares, we would be getting pre updated application whenever we request for our usage, as they are from internet.
• Nothing would be started or runned from our computer, so no chance of Virus affect or malware damage. So high secured, worry free computing begins.

2001: First coloured screen mobile Sony Ericsson T68 came to electronic market, it has resolution of 101×80 and 256 colours
2002: Famous Hollywood movie Die Another Day's character James Bond used Sony Ericsson P800 to take a Photo Snap
2004: Mobile Ringtone commercial sales touched around 250 crores(2,500,000,000 $) and made a great revolution of commericial electronic market.
2006: Again in James Bond movie Sony Ericsson K800i has been introduced and it attracted many people
2007: Approximately 130 crores(1,300,000,000) people using mobile phone across the world, and it is 5% of world's population

Google Chrome Operating System

I would like to share you all about latest Computer Operating System, Chrome-A Google's proud introduction in OS. It turns the table of the computer usage to a different view, Chrome is introduced on November 19 2009. Google published the source codes of Chrome OS in its site. It might take nearly one year to get for public usage. It is expected that an Operating system would be given in a DVD, but Google Chrome is totally different and it is not given as separate OS as we can buy Microsoft Windows OS, it will be pre installed in computers, especially in Notebook computers.
As you all know that today's computer usage mainly depends on Internet, on keeping this idea as fundamental Google designed the Chrome OS, so entire OS functioning will be done on Internet. When you log on Google chrome OS in your system, it connects to Internet and ask for the set of options for eg, like Document, Spreadsheet, Animation, Website, Audio Video Editing and more on. Like now we get the Doc option in Google site. When we select a particular option its Application software will be ready for us to use it to create a new file using that application or we can edit previously saved file or doc. And if we want we can save it in our Hard disk. You might ask here a question that Chrome Os provides all application online then why can't give us space or virtual drive for our own files, Yes Google Chrome gives us ability to save the files we created, Online. So it is possible for you to get your Computer, Laptop or Notebook anywhere in this world without need to carry it physically.

Mobile Phone History

Mobile phones getting faster technology improvements, in the beginning it has been used to make wireless communication with each other, but now it is becoming a portable device with all functions of a computer. In this post i would like to share about my mobile evolving history, And the history somewhat bigger so i continue it in oncoming posts too.
1920: Police department of America used Dual way Radio communication, which seeds up the mobile phone technology
1947: A.T & T Bell Labs found out that it is possible to operate the transmission of signals at longer distance when network of small groups of Cells(a cell is limited region where a tower could receive and transmit signals) is connected with a short range transmitters.
1954: First time it is made possible to communicate a mobile inside a Car and conversation was made, thus improving signal strength.
1970:Rich people could make calls from inside the car(Car phones begin spreading through upper part of the society)
1973:Motorola corporations Dr.Martin Cooper proved that it is possible to commuicate while walking in the road without car phone, that is he introduced Handheld mobile phones.
1979: First commercial launch of Mobile phones usage began in Tokyo, Japan
1984: Even though the cost of the mobile phones are much higher, approximately over 300000 (3 Lakhs) people used mobile phone
1989:Motorola invented a complete Mobile Phone and assigned a name Micro Talk.
1990:2G technology and GSM Digital Mobile phone which opearates in 2G technology has come to usage.
The first conversation through Digital Mobile is the information communicated a by person who got into a train in America to another person who is far away from him.
